TIG welding is also known as Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). It uses electrical arcs to fused thin metals together with a non-consumable tungsten electrode. Dabber, hot wire, and pulsed-content are examples of the techniques used in TIG welding. Each of these techniques are used to produce a different appearance and type of weld.

Dabber Welding is used for thin metal edges. A common application for Dabber Welding is when lawn mower blades or saws need welding repairs. Hot Wire Welding creates the welds by making a weld pool including the filler metal. Pulsed-Content Welding is excellent for finer detail welding on smaller objects. This is due to its ability to use alternating currents.
