This is the third truck I’ve had Bob at Tuff Skin do for me. The customer service, quality and knowledge he offers greatly surpasses the competition. The latest truck I brought him had a bed that was used and abused by a tile contractor and once again Bob did his magic at Tuff Skin making it look brand new! Thanks again. – Ryan D.

Just wanted to say you guys did a great job. You completed it quicker than you estimated and did a great job laying out the top rails in a unique manner that looks great. My son has taken it out on dirt bike trips twice since it was completed. The back of the truck has been loaded to the brim with tools, bikes, gear and firewood both times and it looks as if it hasn’t been used at all. I still plan on bring my truck by for the same treatment. Thanks for a great job. – Gary R.

How Bed liners Are Installed

Quality bed liners are sprayed on. They consist of a two part elastomeric material which is applied under high heat and pressure. It is long lasting, durable, and tough. Every effort is made to create a water tight seal which will protect the metal in your bed and help prevent damage and corrosion in your truck bed.

Surface Prep

First all painted surfaces outside of the bed are masked off. This is to prevent any overspray onto the truck body. Then the truck bed is prepped by scuffing the surface. The polyurethane liner material needs to have a rough surface to properly adhere to the truck bed. This is done with 36 grit sand disks that create the abraded surface. Once the surface is properly prepared the truck bed is cleaned out from all dust and blown dry with air. The next step is wiping the bed with acetone to completely eliminate any moisture, dust, grease or oil.

Product Application

A two part polyurethane elastomer coating is pumped under high pressure and temperature to the spray device. The pressure is around 2,000 psi and the material is at 200° F. The mixture dries in only 5 seconds which completely eliminates any runs that are common with roll on or lower quality bed liner systems. Skilled technicians make flat even passes to lay a uniform layer of the material. The thickness should be approximately 3/16” across the surface of your truck bed.
